Fast Food and Childhood Obesity
Recently, childhood obesity has taken a form of endemic in the United States. The rate of childhood obesity has increased time of 5 years from 70 to current time. The consumption of food rich in calories and fat are the main culprits for this trend of increasing childhood obesity. A greater part of the calorie increase by children comes from consumption of fast food preparation. In the 70 fast-food preparation were only 2 percent of daily meal of a child and by the mid-90s this rose to 10 daily meal of our children. Today, a tenth of our children aged between 2 and 5 years and 15% of children between ages 6 and 19 is overweight. Recent studies undertaken by the Ministry of Agriculture of the United States have reviewed the information dell'ingestione food of children in the United States. These researchers analyzed data from 6212 schoolchildren with ages ranging from 4 to 19 years. The study found that children who ate fast food preparation have consumed significantly higher number of calories compared to those children who have not eaten fast food preparation. They found that those children who ate fast food preparation had significantly higher consumption of fat, saturated fat and carbohydrates. Also those children who consumed fast food preparation have added more sugar to their meals, they drank more sweetened beverages and ate less milk, fiber and vegetables. This study has shown that the consumption of fast food preparation on a regular basis does not provide the nutrients needed and had more fat and calories. The lack of essential nutrients can have a negative effect on children particularly to the years of farming. The consumption of excessive calories, unless balanced by physical activity leads to increased body fat and obesity. The trend towards increased consumption of fast food preparation is an important contributor to overweight and obesity in childhood. Parents and teachers of children should make every effort encourage our children to realize the dangers of fast food preparation. Should be summarized about the negative health implications of consumption of fast food preparation. Parents should assess the nutrition and a healthy diet make a priority of the family who raised the proper message to children. In the 70 children have spent much time in outside activities. In our modern lives children do not get tant'attività who should get physical. Our children spend more time on computer games, the television and video. Our children and youth do not eat healthy meals and do not meet recommended levels of physical activity. The increased emphasis on good nutrition, avoid fast food preparation and increased physical activity are the corner stones of a childhood sound. Every parent and teacher should contribute towards bringing up our children in good health.
